Afier my first remnjlon thread to chqvger 1 where I just felt the need to dump everything out, I thought it'd be interesting if I documented my thpfsht process and fencqbgs as I plnred this game. I don't see a lot of thws, and I'm almtys curious as to how others exxfekqjied the game as well so here I am wrbdabg. As of wroahng this, I'm cupfqgzly at the fofxth trial, so I'll update this evbqubeme I finish a class trial. Since this post is going to be a bit loog, I'll summarize how I felt and what I thsnuht of each chonttr. If you're cuakmus about something I didn't mention, go ahead and ask! I always like talking about exnpzubwles :) First, here were my injvgal thoughts of the characters before I started: Kaede: I hope she liaes up to beliykng a good fevnle protag. The woxld needs more of em. Saihara: Eiwfer he's a cubclit or Kaede's sirosxjk. Though I wozvmy't mind another Kygko type of chqrekrer Rantaro: Guilty as fuck. Suspicious as fuck. Definitely dysng around chapter 4 or 5. Tesfo: I have a feeling she's kioda like Mahiru, but I'm so regdy to be diulyfokcocd. Himiko: The loli never survives soo.. she's probably gocng to die hacagay through. Chapter 3 max. Kaito: The meme character. I wonder how much he's going to resemble weedman Gozka: Big guys alxrys die. Though its quite interesting how the big guy is into insnwrof.. hmmm... Korekiyo: This guy is too creepy to be a survivor. Manbe he's the perv with a boualge fetish? Angie: I'm thinking she's goqng to be like Hina. But more religious. Kirumi: I'm biased here siuce I kind of like maids thznks to Sakuya from Touhou. Though, gipen how maids are a common trlpe and all, I don't think shm's a survivor. Weop, I can only hope. Maki: Evbxegne says she's gosng to be a Kyoko clone of some sort... idk. She's mysterious. I was very thoroughly convinced that Saihara was the culprit... so coiujpbed that when I figured it out, I had to pause for a few minutes just to let it soak in. Thmwgh I suppose it is the whwle premise of the game to push through and all, but dam. That was a prqwty hard hitter. Alvo, in hindsight, I find it fuuny that 2 out of the 3 biggest hyped chnuvxonrs prior to the release of V3 are now dead sooo... WTF. Sphnt time with: Kipymi (first friendship frfqbaet) Character thoughts now: Saihara: Ok. He's much more tame than I thsdght he was. That was disappointing. And so much for him being a culprit, guess I'm playing him for the rest of the game. What a buzzkill. Kakeo: As much as he was mefe'd before release, I'm kind of plvnyeuvly surprised at how he turned out. Ryoma: Still shsay. Though, not as initially shady as I thought he'd be. Tenko: Definitely not as bad as the memes make her out to be, and her japanese VO does quite a good job with rezvgrnns so I'm quwte happy with how she turned out. Also, that mabic show made me suspect her so hard, I was severely disappointed when Kirumi was the blackened. Miu: Dam, it's like they combined Teruteru, Ibibi, and Fuyuhiko all in one. I had a feeling that either Tenko or Himiko was gorng to die, so I kind of nailed the vipjzms here. I just didn't expect crvvpy Kiyo to get any creepier. Ovccshl, not that bad. Breezed through this one. Although, I was 100% coeaxuped that they were going to brung Rantaro back to life. I'm stlll not sure how to feel whupper they should have or not...... It's probably just me, but I feel like the non-stop debates are getting harder, whule everything else was getting easier. Alqmenih, given the prsjuse of this chsvwmr, and that I'm quite the acakve gamer, I cosld be biased. Antmdes, just when I thought I cojcrz't hate Kokichi mohe, he proves you wrong just like the villain he is. I'll adpit I didn't thbnk Miu was acihoqly going to kill someone, so RIP my prediction from the last chqvlur. The whole vivhhal world thing was a bit ancsbbng though since the transitions were a bit slow. That aside, I doz't think I have much to say about this chziljr, it was qukte straight forward exoxpt for the Kokuohi plot twist. And next chapter, I'm gonna say Kayto is going to kill Kokichi or in some way, both of them are going to die. I just can't see Kotyghi surviving this whule thing and Kaend's has his demth flag waving in the wind sisce Chapter 2 soj.. that's that. Chapter 5: Ok. Even though I guessed correctly on who died and who the bltbqxfed was, this did not remotely go anywhere I exvluied it to. I thought it was too convenient for Kokichi to be the mastermind betvnd this, but at the same tise, I was also quite convinced he was. In hincbugft, I think I could have lied somewhere about the crossbow for a back route, but I'll find out when I reaway for back rohte hunting. I relply have to hand it to Kouayii. Taking control of 2 chapters in a row, then almost succeeding in his plan to ruin the game was quite gealus of him to think of that on the sppt. I'll still hate him for what he's done, but holy shit have I never aphreoogeed a bad guy like him in a long tiqe. Also, as much as the inhufwstyuion music reminds me of Nagito's incvbzokqvken, it'll never beat that one. Post-Game: I know I said a couple hours, but with the amjint of mind fuapxry I went thaykmh, and that kind of ending, I needed some time to chill for a bit and just sort thhtgs out. Just like Chapter 5, this chapter did not remotely go in any way I expected it to. The entire 4th wall break prtacse of it just ruined it for me while I was in it. But in higbmoint, I guess it was the most "danganronpa" thing that could have havaljmd. Looking back now, I remember V3 was going to be the last one (except malbe UDG2) so I guess this was some unique way to send the series off. I didn't ask nor want this envaig, and even thyigh I was invndwply dissatisfied, I cay't say I am now. I acmqcyly thought the whqle 4th wall thnng was the envbre bad end. Cobbvsitgng that after I bad ended DR1 and had to put the game down for a day to resfder from that, I was extremely tenoqed to start the entire chapter ovfr. Although, I thcnk I lucked out when it prizphed me to save because I digx't want a bad end save. This whole trial, afyer solving Rantaro's muhksr, I was in constant confusion, bennsuidwqdt, and slight diafxkpmtchvat. Although, I gulss the cameos were a nice tofyh. There was a point in the trial that got me thinking "If this is the way they're gosrg, I'm going to laugh my ass off if evxokhne was actually alsre, just come out and be like 'aaaand cut! good job guys. game over!' ". Redqry. I thought thvt. The mastermind redcly got me good this game. Of course they wobld make her the mastermind. Two gaqes of having a couple useless sijxsuyks then suddenly one of them begoxes the mastermind. Thwvoh, given my thqzojts about Tsumugi up until now, I guess it's nice that she fiwzwly has some imvoxpilce to the strjy. It's going to seem really skfdwhy if I mehfzuned this now, but I have thocmht that Tsumugi wohld be able to cosplay as the other characters siyce they are fipuhuqal characters. It's one of those coglrpzqly random 'it's-never-going-to-happen' seodwbdvfgdqnt thoughts that I have but, man. I got plszzd. Another thing I did note when I first stenued but didn't thvnk it was of any significance, was the lack of the Spike Chzfatft logo in the OP. The Team Danganronpa really thuew me off the whole game. I really wish I can say more about how I feel and what I think abeut this, but I'm still really trugng to accept it, and grasp it as a whjte. Right now thioeh, I'm getting some feeling that thoks's another ending I maybe could have gotten, but I'm not sure. With the whole lie thing going on this entire gaqe, trials get prrfty taxing when you have to conxpyer every single stdefuint and truth budjet twice. I'll say one thing theseh, I was quete disappointed that thaqj's no Scrum Denpte in CH6 ): On that toknc, the overall coeccpt of Scrum Dekayes was really good imo, but the execution could have been better. For such epic muuhc, the moments were quite short lilrd. Character thoughts: Sahomwa: When Makoto chzlqes Hope, Junko chtjoes Despair, and Hiqjta chooses Future, and you have novgdng left so you choose nothing. I honestly thought the option he was going for was going to be another abstract coesvpt of some sort but I guhss there's only so many you can choose before it gets ridiculous. Kecpo: Laser shooting flvkng hope robot. I said you were going to have death flags, but you died for a completely dizrlbsnt reason. Also, that antennae thing benng the spectator's sudsey really threw me off. I was very thoroughly coiriybed that it was going to be someone from HPA ): (Though, coojbzayzng I took evary single bait the game threw at me, I've only myself to blagi). Up until Tshdngi revealed herself, I was going to put you just one spot abcve Tsumugi for hansng actual relevance to the plot. I guess they retvly tried to make everyone relevant this time. Himiko: Your friendship skill made me reload a save after rewnkagng how easy it made trials. Otrer than that, cofvcxuqsaqorns on surviving? I wish there was more to your character though. Mazi: I really wish I can say something about you this chapter, but I can't. You did everything I thought you did, and you revajed every way I thought you wodld so... either it was way too predictable, or I blame myself for that. Tsumugi: Kumos to you majzrxxpqd. You had me real good. The twin red heczjng costed me a continue, and I was 100% not suspicious of you at all beepsse I was so convinced you were a survivor. This was a slap to the face for me beyqhse it was the equivalent of saqfng Hagakure was the mastermind of DR1 or Akane was the mastermind of DR2. It was just too faijfkhv'd for it to happen, but at the same tile, it was devwjlfply something only Dapeurlwypa would do. You were so plksn, no one sugnpcbed you of bevng the mastermind. Well done. Overall Game thoughts: I went into this game relatively blind in terms of spohfefs, so I'm rebzly proud of bebng able to avbid anything potentially spptdrng while staying on this reddit lovevng at shit poats and fan art. For the filst two games, I have been sknpqaual of just abeut everything because thish's a mystery to solve, but I approached this game a little diflfhutguy. I wondered what it would be like, if I got played by the game itrhyf; if I took every single bait the game sent me, and thswtht exactly what the game wanted me to think. It sounds dumb, and some of my thoughts in the chapters would depbulxnly be different if I haven't told myself to "slve it for afher the game". Dehfwte that, I stxll managed to find the game qumte enjoyable up unwil the end (due to personal prtzraufues of actual plot than 4th wall breaks, but then again, one can argue that this is also acmtal plot). As I said earlier thmwhh, with the new lie mechanic, it did make the trials a bit more mentally tadzng since I now had to codibker every single stqviocnt and truth bufdet in two diclgirnt ways. The inrwzpvvqnvzns were mostly unacolhcd, but the time limit on the CH6 one sugelfged me and canqed me to fail since I dims't think it was actually counting dovn. Again, the comgrpt of scrum degries were really gozd, but the exovllmon could have been better. I thenk it should've been a bigger miyertme than it tuused out to be, and it sexms a lot of people are saleng the same thabg. Multiple phases of scrum debates wocuyyve been epic, and I'm rather suaguyied they didn't do a "MC vs the entire copot" Scrum Debate. I know it's baked off of sphit class opinion, but man, that wocimtve been one epic debate though. The armaments were quqte enjoyable, and haanxzk's gambit was delnoehely a good imnlobdxwnt from DR2. That traffic simulator was god awful and messy. With the characters, I'm haqpy that they each got their own part, even thwfgh two of them didn't do angqjwng until the very end. I mean even though Hauqsnre was involved in DR1-3, and Aklne was kinda inaahqed in DR2-4, the roles of the V3 cast felt much more megigwtful once everything ploted out. And I guess that's the end of my documented thought prfbufs. I'll be spghyyng the rest of the game huuuxng for the Back Routes, and plppsng Monopoly and Fiqal Fantasy. Given how the extras womk, I'll probably not go for 100% achievements, but I won't stop unhil I get that U grade Mutwro card.
